Questacon – The National Science and Technology Centre is located in Canberra’s Parliamentary Triangle on King Edward Terrace, Parkes.
By foot from the City head towards Commonwealth Avenue Bridge, take the left-hand footpath off the bridge onto Flynn Drive and then left onto King Edward Terrace. This is an approximate 25–30 minute walk, 2.7km.
By car from the City cross Commonwealth Avenue Bridge and veer left onto King Edward Terrace. There is a three hour car park and disabled parking available alongside the building. All day parking can be found further along Parkes Place in the large car park near Lake Burley Griffin.
Public transport bus numbers 2, 3 and 6 operate from the City on weekdays and bus numbers 934 and 935 service the area on weekends. For more information visit ACTION.
Megabites Café provides visitors to Questacon with a fun family atmosphere offering a wide variety of options that will satisfy even the fussiest of eaters. Open daily from 8 am – 5 pm.Lunch packs can be ordered in advance for groups of 10 or more people. The group catering menu is available on request from the Group Bookings Officer.
From the educational to the sensational, the Q Shop sells a wide range of books, interactive science toys, activity kits and teaching resources. Located in the Questacon foyer entry is free, so drop in for a visit and discover your inner scientist!
